Quick Sand Casting is the technique used to realise metal castings using the final alloy, obtained via classic foundry processes. This guarantees the best possible replica of the mechanical properties of the prototypes that become complete pre-series objects.
This technique foresees the manipulation of the 3D model of the part to be produced so as to obtain the project of a series of disposable pre-moulds (moats) made from sand and resin using prototyping techniques that will then be assembled and used for the actual melted alloy casting. The moats house the cavity of the part to be realised and the undercut or core elements. Thanks to a suitable feed system that is designed case by case, it is possible to pour the melted metal inside the moulds. After this phase, the pre-mould material slowly carbonises (the resin component only) so that, at the end of the solidification phase, it is possible to extract the metal cast covered in sand. This cast must then be deburred (removal of the excess metal in the joints on precastings) and then sanded to guarantee smooth even surfaces.
We can produce complex shapes and cores, with cavities or undercuts. The work range of 1800x1000x700(h) mm makes it possible to realise large sized parts or produce small numbers of objects at competitive prices thanks to the high productivity level.
