Through CNC milling it is possible to construct objects in the most varied materials starting from a block of the chosen material and going to shape it using milling machines that work on machining centers (cutters) that move along 3, 4 and 5 axes.

This procedure requires for the implementation of a 3D model of the “finished” part and in the case of construction of tolerance zones, even of a specific 2D drawing for machining.

The undoubted advantage of this technological solution lies in the structural integrity, guaranteed regardless given that the piece is shaped by a compact block of material, by the high surface finish obtained by the smoothness of the machined faces as well as the possibility of obtaining the part already including machining details (including, holes, threads, bearing seats, gasket seats, all working perfectly and within specific tolerances).

The materials usually chosen for this type of process vary from resins to metals.
The most common are:
Resins: Nylon (PA 6; PA6,6; PA 35% GF), ABS, Methacrylate Metals: Aluminum (6061; 6082; 7075;), Steel (39NICRMO3; 39NICRMO4; AISI 304; AISI 316)
