Prototypal cores in silica sand from 3D printing

Prototypal cores in silica sand from 3D printing

The prototype cores made via 3D printing with silica sand are the ideal solution for creating complex internal cavities in metal castings. By printing directly from 3D STL files, it is possible to produce perfect cores for castings in aluminum, cast iron, bronze and brass, reducing time and cost compared to traditional methods.

Features

How prototypal cores are made

This technology exploits a process of progressive stratification of silica sand, combined with two-component resins, to achieve precise and complex shapes. The absence of support materials enables the creation of thin, detailed geometries and monolithic assemblies, without having to subdivide the model into several parts.

Why Choose It

Why choose 3D printed prototypal cores

Speed and flexibility

Production is fast and allows for the creation of complex cores in a few days, easily adapting to design requirements.

Compatibility with traditional foundry

The cores are made with silica sand and furan binder, identical to cold-box products, making them perfectly compatible with castings in aluminum, cast iron, bronze, and brass.

Precision and strength

They offer high detail, excellent strength, high permeability, and minimal LOI, ensuring the quality of the final castings.
